The number of buyers is a demand-side factor. More residents means more households wanting a home at every price, so demand shifts right. Builders' costs have not changed, so supply stays put. The higher price moves builders up along their supply curve.
Price rises and quantity rises.
Common mistake. Some students shift supply right because 'more houses get built.' More get built because the higher price makes building worthwhile. That is a movement along supply, not a shift.
