Terms of use

Last updated 13 October 2026. Econ Academy (econ.academy) is run by Aras Zirgulis, Professor of Economics at ISM University, Vilnius, Lithuania. Questions: arazir@ism.lt.

Free to use

Econ Academy is free. There is no paid tier, no paywall and no feature that requires payment. We may add features over time, but we will not start charging for what is free today without saying so on this page well in advance.

Sharing and reusing the material

The lessons, interactive graphs, practice quizzes, walkthroughs, draw-the-graph scenarios, calculators, glossary and other content on econ.academy are copyright Aras Zirgulis. You are expressly permitted to share and reuse them for educational purposes:

  • Link to any page, or embed the embeddable versions (the /embed/ URLs offered on practice pages, calculators and the central bank simulator) in a course site, learning management system, slide deck, blog or resource collection.
  • Copy, print, project, screenshot or adapt the material for teaching and learning in a classroom, tutoring session, study group or self-study, including in school and university courses.
  • Include Econ Academy in teacher resource lists, library guides, open educational resource catalogues and reviews.

Two conditions: credit econ.academy (a link or the name is enough), and do not charge for the material or present it as your own work. Reselling the content, bundling it into a paid product, or systematically copying the site (scraping, mirroring) is not permitted. For any use outside these terms, email us; we say yes to most reasonable requests.

Accounts

You need an account only for the adaptive course, the diagnostic, progress tracking and teacher classes. Keep your password private, use a display name you are happy for a teacher to see if you join a class, and tell us if you think your account has been misused. You may delete your account at any time by emailing us; see the privacy policy for what we store and for how long.

Accounts are for people aged 13 and over. Students below the age of digital consent in their country should sign up with a parent’s or school’s permission.

Teacher classes

Teachers may create classes and share join codes with their own students. By creating a class you confirm that you are a teacher or tutor of those students and that you will use the progress summaries only for teaching. Do not share class codes publicly, and remove students who leave your course.

Acceptable use

Do not try to break the site, access other people’s data, overload the servers, bypass the daily limits on AI grading, or use the written-answer grader for anything other than answering the question on the page. Do not post abusive content through feedback, error reports, display names or class names.

AI grading is a study aid

Written answers are graded by an AI model against a rubric written by the author. The grade and feedback are there to help you study. They are not an official assessment, they can be wrong, and they should not be used as the sole basis for a school grade. If you think a grade is mistaken, use the report button on that question.

No warranty, limited liability

We work hard to keep the economics correct and the site available, but it is provided as is. We do not guarantee that it is error-free, uninterrupted, or suited to any particular syllabus or exam, and we are not liable for exam results, lost data, or any indirect loss arising from its use, to the extent the law allows. The site may change or go offline for maintenance without notice.

Ending access

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You may stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania, without affecting the consumer rights you have where you live. When we change them we update the date at the top; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
