Risk aversion
Preferring a sure thing to a gamble with the same expected value. It comes from diminishing marginal utility of wealth: losing 1,000 dollars hurts more than gaining 1,000 dollars helps. Risk-neutral people care only about expected value, risk lovers prefer the gamble.
Also called: risk neutral, risk loving, risk preferences
